Six months in 2004 spent volunteering at a sustainable living center in rural Costa Rica, yielded several structures made entirely from locally harvested and milled hardwoods, bamboo, river stones and natural plasters.

In 2006, I performed complete design and construction consultation for a small research/sleeping cabin (casita) for tropical education company. Utilizes local materials including site-milled plantation-grown lumber, and timber bamboo. Complete design performed in Seattle with client. Consulted with client and builders during construction in the rural Costa Rican village of Mastatal.
